There are a few tips addicts need to know in order to steer clear of their old life. The first tip is to be prepared. You know you will get cravings again and when they happen you need to know what to do. The best thing to do when you get a craving is to suddenly change what you are doing. If you are sitting on the couch watching T.V. get up and exercise. Exercise is the best way to kick any craving.
The second thing an addict must know is when to call for help. By help I mean when they are getting a craving and can’t control it. Sometimes addicts get cravings that are too strong to control themselves. When this happens you need to call a friend. Your friends need to be able to help you in any way possible in your long road to recovery.
When it comes to an addiction its time that will save you, everyone knows that drug addicts can’t kick the habit overnight. So remember the next time you get an addiction that recovery takes time, and all cravings are natural. It’s not how well you start the recovery process that matters, its how you end it that counts.
